John Rylands Library, Deansgate, Manchester. A stunning Victorian Gothic building that was opened to the public in 1900. The library has the appearance of a church, though the actual concept was of an Oxford college library on a larger scale. Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Mall, London. The ICA was founded by a group of radical artists in the 1940s and ‘exists to challenge the foundations of contemporary art’. It contains galleries, a theatre, two cinemas, a bookshop and a bar. It’s a lovely space, you should go. Time Out London Shortlist 2012

Museum of Childhood, Bethnal Green, London. Home to the V&A’s collection of childhood related objects and artefacts, spanning the 1600s to the present day. A haven for children and a chance for adults to revisit their childhood.
