The Roebuck

The Roebuck, Borough, London. Once upon a time this was my local and it’s one of the things I really miss living north of the river. The Roebuck is two minutes walk from Borough tube station and hosts quiz nights, live music, big screen sport, serves great food and ale and has a private function room. Well worth a visit…

Band on the Wall

Band on the Wall, Norther Quarter, Manchester. This popular venue hosts an eclectic mix of music through live gigs, DJ sets and club nights. Band on the Wall was forced to close in 2005 as the building was in a delapidated state, but much like the 100 Club, it was saved by funding and now functions on a not-for-profit basis run by the charity Inner City Music.

Pissotière

Pissotière, Montparnasse, Paris. Yes, one of the things I shot whilst racing around Paris for a day was this urinal. A police car pulled over as I was taking photos – although they were puzzled as to why I was photographing a pissotière they didn’t mind, they were more concerned about the prison behind. In my broken French I explained myself and they watched as I finished things off. Read below as to why this urinal is significant.
